Open to all, the festival brings together Francophone authors, educators, artists, and students for a rich, immersive experience across San Diego. We are proud to welcome acclaimed author Éric Fottorino as our Literary Guest of Honor, and Ann Craig as our Honorary Patron alongside a distinguished lineup of local and international voices.​ Éric Fottorino is an acclaimed French journalist, novelist, and co-founder of some of France’s most innovative literary publications. A former reporter, editor-in-chief, and publisher at Le Monde, he is the author of over forty books, including sixteen novels published by Gallimard. His work has earned him numerous literary awards, including the Prix Femina and the France Télévisions Prize. Passionate about cycling, storytelling, and the power of the written word, Fottorino brings a singular voice to contemporary French literature.

Event Description Ashton Gallery in North Park kicks off October with an opening reception for “Emotion X Connection”, the first full collaborative exhibition by artists Anuj Jenveja and Priyanka Pathak. The month-long exhibit is presented alongside the “Fall in Love” juried show featuring dozens of new regional works. Friends Jenveja and Pathak will present a collection of over 10 expressive figurative acrylic and mixed media paintings, drawing from their professional background as psychotherapists. The duo express nuances of life’s emotional moments using a rich color palette inspired by their South Asian heritage. During the opening reception from 4-7pm, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the two artists at the celebratory reception, free and open to the public. Event Description “Something Wicked This Way Comes!” Escondido Art Association announces their October Gallery Show. Take-in of Art is Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11-4 (All subjects welcomed although theme entries are encouraged.) Up to 3 entries of 2D & 3D art per artist are accepted with a Max size of 36” on any side for 2D art (including frame). Submissions can be made on the association website under the link, Submit Art. Local illustrator, Megan Darrough will judge the show. The winning entries will be critiqued by the judge and her comments posted on the association website for public viewing. A 2-hour free artist demonstration will be offered by Megan at the EAA gallery, 121 W. Grand Ave., Escondido 92025 on Thursday, Oct. 9th from 2-4pm. Event Description TECHNE is proud to present "Unknown Frontier”, a group show curated by Chuck Thomas featuring artists Jeff Feld, Sylvia Fernandez, Nathanael Flink, Will Hutnick, David Kramer, Jason Clay Lewis, Christopher Lin, Briana Miyoko, Tim Murdoch, Jonathan Ryan, Jonathan Shipper, Kate Stone, Delilah Strukel, and Frank Webster. “Unknown Frontier“ features artists that are exploring uniquely unexpected techniques and materials beyond the norm. The work in the show is interactive, playful, and exploding with color. Walking around the gallery you may just find your perfect vacation vista, a dramatic inverted installation, surreal landscapes, intimate ethereal sculptures or an unexpected surprise that catches the viewer off guard.
