Event Description R.B. STEVENSON GALLERY is pleased to announce the second exhibition "Here and There" by French artist Geoffroy Tobé. Tobé paintings from the studio, observational studies, ceramics, and a lithograph, come together like fragments of a visual conversation. They speak in different vocabularies, but share the same roots: shape, color, mark, and a desire to hold space between chaos and control. He follows intuition more than strategy, sometimes working from life, sometimes from memory, or from a sense of place — travels to Japan, the Mediterranean light of his origins, the shifting forms of modernist architecture. The work borrows freely — from abstraction, figuration, cubism, expressionism — but always returns to the structure of solid composition. Each medium invites a different tempo; ceramics and lithography slow things down, small observational paintings sharpen perception, large canvases allow for physical gestures.
