The Off Track Gallery is pleased to announce its four Featured Artists for July/August. They are: Yanina Cambareri, Jackie Tyree, Julie Sauer and Tom Shannon. The four artists will be honored at a reception on July 10th from 5-8 at the Off Track Gallery located at the corner of 2nd and “D” Streets in Encinitas. Music will be provided by Endangered Speciez Project -- Jazz for All Occasions.
Yanina Cambareri was born in Argentina but now lives in Encinitas with her husband and daughters. Although Yanina graduated from the University of Buenos Aires as a Software Engineer, she has always been interested in Fine Arts. Her favorite medium is now watercolor, she finds excitement in the transparency of the medium and the bold use of color. Her paintings often reflect local and European landscapes and convey her love for nature. She is an art teacher in the Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe School Districts and volunteers for ARTS (A Reason To Survive).
Jackie Tyree is an artist of exceptional ability who paints mostly in the San Diego , California area. As a young school girl in Stockton , she won several awards for her youthful endeavors at art and one of her paintings was exhibited in the 1939 San Francisco World’s Fair. She finds challenges in many mediums including miniatures, water studies and seascapes. Jackie loves the water and all its moods. “Painting is somewhat like fishing,” she states, “It’s the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable.”
At an early age, Julie Sauer began to make designs and crafts using sand, driftwood and beautiful stones that come from the earth and sea. Much of her inspiration for her natural artisan jewelry comes for the ocean and desert. She uses an unusual assortment of precious and semi-precious gemstones, coral, shells and pearls in her work. While creating a successful nursing career, Julie kept her passion for design. “The designs left in the sand after the waves crash are inspiring. Each wave leaves a design like no other has before.”
As a young architectural student at Oklahoma State University , Tom Shannon created a number of works: oil paintings, drawings, and sculptures, which reflected the uninhibited spontaneity of the ‘60’s. Throughout his thirty year career in architecture and construction Tom kept his artistic streak alive. His wife encouraged him to explore art by joining the San Dieguito Art Guild. Tom says, “I’m interested in exploring a variety of disciplines and approaches to unique solutions. But first, as in architecture, one needs to understand the basic nature and “reason to be” of the subject. Only then can one draw upon experiences, emotions, and enhanced techniques to create art.”
Please join the featured artists and Endangered Speciez Project at the Off Track Gallery Reception on Friday, July 10th from 5-8 pm. The Off Track Gallery is located at the corner of 2nd and “D” Streets.
