Alexander Salazar Fine Art; Meet & Greet with Tania Alcala on April 23th, 2010 at 5 pm for collectors.
Following the huge success of the grand opening of Alexander Salazar Fine Art, the newest Gallery in downtown San Diego is holding its first meet and greet with abstract artist, Tania Alcala.
The event will take place on April 23th at 640 Broadway, on the corner of 7th Avenue. Patrons of the Arts and those alike are invited to join Alexander Salazar and Tania Alcala for a wine and cheese reception taking place from 5pm till 9pm.
Artist, Tania Alcala was born and raised in Mexico City, where she studied oil painting under Juan Hernandez. Tania obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ottawa University in Phoenix, AZ and a master's degree in Transformative Arts from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA. Tania credits the German artist Christine Peirano for directing her passion for color into Abstract Expressionism that freed her from the realism of her early teachers.
Tania's large atmospheric pieces convey her deeply moving experiences from the skies along with her lifelong fascination with color. These abstract, expressionistic works of art have an inner complexity, compellingly and sensuously immersing the viewer in a uniquely personal way. Her smaller paintings shift your view from her large-scale abstract expressionistic work of the sky to the intimately close up views of the earth. Tania adds a level of creativity to these small squares of the earth captured in acrylic paint.
Alex Salazar has been an Art Dealer for over 12 years. Salazar holds a Masters Degree in Theological Studies from Harvard University, a Masters Degree in Sociology from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts from The Colorado College.
