| Event Description |
Meyer Fine Art presents the exhibition of sculptures, complimented by drawings and paintings artist John Neumann.
Incorporating a new tangent for the gallery, Meyer Fine Art is expanding it’s works on paper focus to now include sculpture. This exciting exhibition for renown California desert-based artist John Neumann will feature over 30 maquettes and ‘tabletop-sized’ metal sculptures complemented with several larger edifices, both free standing and wall-mounted. Drawings, sketches and paintings will also be on display to show various elements of the artistic and creative process. John is a master of metal fabrication and diverse finishing techniques.
“Every piece of work has it’s own meaning, but underlying that I strive to achieve a sense of movement and energy… I choose to work directly in metal because it allows me to achieve results that would be impossible in wood or stone.” – John Neumann
Artist John Neumann, born in Germany, moved to the US at an early age. He acquired his art background both in the states and Milano, Italy. He apprenticed with several established sculptors, as well as assisted others with the fabrication of their metal creations. His exhibitions and collectors are numerous.
Neumann transforms raw metal into fine art. He incorporates his soul in to the sculptural forms by the use of angles, curves and balance. The sculptures flow with energy and movement. The fusion of the metal segments, finished in paint, patinated or highly polished stainless steel, so skillfully constructed in their design and space, are visually stimulating. Whether they are small studies or large 10 foot projects, the sculptures need to be observed from all sides to fully appreciate the compositions.
