Event Description Space 4 Art is gearing up for three days of art-related festivities. It all starts Friday, September 3, with the opening of “Soap & Feathers” featuring the grotesque, pretty paintings of Walter Wojtyla, a towering sculpture of whittled tree branches, and stretched intimate attire by John Dillemuth, and the elegant, primordial work of emerging Tijuana artist, Griselda Rosas. Then, on Saturday, September 4, Space 4 Art will invite the public to roam a maze of 35 individual artist studios, installations, and music stages filled with zithers, home-made synthesizers, toy pianos, and custom-hacked pianos. Finally, Sunday will feature kid friendly classes such as puppet making by the San Diego Guild of Puppetry and graffiti art workshops by members of the Prizm Process. *Due to sporting events at Petco Park, the use of mass transit is highly recommended.*

Event Description Members of the Digital Art Guild from as far away as Vancouver, British Columbia were selected by curator Will Gibson to show a short portfolio of current work in this exhibit. Curator Gibson explains, "The idea was to find and show a specific body of work by these contemporary artists in such a way as to create an overall picture of the state of digital two dimensional art today. The digital revolution has come to most fields of our society and the art world is no exception. Many of these artists have strong backgrounds in traditional media and have chosen to explore these new tools. ‘Cross-pollination’ refers not only to the mix of traditional experience and digital tools, but also to the communication among artists in the Digital Art Guild. The range of how they approach their work gives the visitor an experience of what is possible and hopefully a glimpse of how things will continue to change in the future."

Event Description Overlooking the water at Hilton Bayfront Hotel’s Promenade Patio, SIGHT & SOUND CONCERT ON THE BAY is a free outdoor rock concert featuring performances from rock acts Vinyl Film and Republic of Letters. There will also be huge art installations from Rich Walker, and two dance acts. The event launches the new format for SIGHT & SOUND, formerly a music & arts event held every third Saturday in North Park. SIGHT & SOUND will now showcase San Diego musicians & artists in non-traditional venues across the city. SIGHT & SOUND CONCERT ON THE BAY is a major highlight of ART SAN DIEGO, the four-day contemporary art fair happening in and around the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.
