This one-of-a-kind event celebrates art in all its forms, and doesn't charge you a penny. The Open features works and talks by painters, sculptors, potters, dancers, poets and musicians. Visitors can visit studios, check out exhibitions, chat with the artistes and watch performances. The Open incorporates local businesses, schools, churches, theaters, and a free shuttle tour of artist studios in the area.The participating establishments and troupes are worth spending time on.
The Historic Teachers Annex Building Grounds is the starting point for the events, featuring 40 booths of visual artists of all mediums as well as historic groups, community groups and the will call booth for the Taste of UH. The Taste of UH is from noon-3pm, including more than 15 local restaurants and is ticketed. Also featured is the centennial celebration of the Annex building with city leader presentations, raffle, and performances. |
