| Event Description |
This exhibition will present the prints of Georges Rouault’s powerful and poignant Miserere series. Part of USD’s permanent collection, the selection from Rouault’s series of 58 prints will be accompanied by a rotating installation of student work in the form of photographs, prints and texts, offering a new context in which to see and interpret these objects.
Rouault has long been recognized as among the most spiritually committed artists of the 20th century. Rouault studied with a symbolist painter Gustav Moreau and eventually developed a highly individual and personal style of representation, often characterized by an intimate portrayal of the human figure rendered in complex layers of tone and texture.
The exhibition is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. and Thursday, noon to 6 p.m. |
