Jessi Rapp My paintings are about identity, and speak of our society’s attitudes and beliefs which aide (for better or worse) our notions of self. My paintings reflect my experiences as a young female within contemporary society. In my work I reflect society's collective notions of how femininity and masculinity are defined. I create art that reveals, that confronts, that is provocative; art that expresses our sensations of deformity, impurity, and glory. Art that is imprudent and honest.
