“Lest we forget - Memory: Conversations with Professor Elizabeth Loftus and Artist Deborah Aschheim”
We are well aware that our remembrances are ephemeral. The Forum will present two individuals that explore this aspect of memory each from quite different perspectives.
Dr. Elizabeth Loftus is a distinguished professor at UCI. She studies human memory. Her experiments reveal how memories can be changed by things that we are told. Facts, ideas, suggestions and other post-event information can modify our memories.
The legal field, so reliant on memories, has been a significant application of the memory research.
Deborah Aschheim, a Los Angeles artist long interested in thought, memory, perception, the function of the brain and the connections between sensations that make intelligent life possible. Deborah has exhibited immersive sculptural environments that create links between architecture, biology and public space.
