Event Description

Edgeware Gallery pays tribute to that venerable American icon, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The exhibition will run between November 19 and November 28. The Macy's Parade show (a lead-in to Edgeware's 'Christmas in New York: Art and Artifacts' show opening on December 4), will feature mylar balloons covered with images of Macy's balloon floats from Thanksgivings past; Macy's Day Parade trivia; large Christmas ornaments that once adorned the Macy's New York Christmas tree in the 1940's; and actual home movies filmed over 50 years ago at several Macy's parades. In addition, in-person and online visitors can enter a free drawing to win a $50 Macy's gift card (first prize) and a Macy’s Parade Christmas tree ornament (second prize).
