Space 4 Art and Loft 9 Gallery present Hydrodynamica: Remember the Future, an examination of San Diego’s Surfboard Design Revolution
1949-1970
Hydrodynamica: Remember the Future explores early surfboard design, and how the use of surfboard materials relates to and influenced post-war sculptors and designers in Southern California. Hydrodynamica is a part of the Pacific Standard Time, an unprecedented series of concurrent exhibitions throughout Southern California museums and galleries that highlight the significance of art in Los Angeles region in the post World War II decades. Exhibitions and related programs began in the fall of 2011 and conclude in spring 2012.
Hydrodynamica runs Jan. 28 through March 9, 2012 at Space 4 Art, 325 15th Street in San Diego. The opening reception from is 4 to 10 p.m. and will feature the music of Irwin Conspiracy and Steve Poltz. |
