On Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10:00am-2:00pm, the San Diego Air & Space Museum will host its 10th Annual Space Day celebration! Space Day will feature demonstrations, giveaways, and hands-on activities with local and national space experts.
Astronaut Garrett Reisman will be speaking at the museum for Space Day! Garrett Reisman has made two trips on Space Shuttles to the International Space Station, remaining there as a long duration crewmember. Garrett flew on Space Shuttles Endeavour, Discovery, and Atlantis during his astronaut career, and completed three successful “Space Walks” or EVAs.
As an extra bonus, the Museum's Space Galleries are open for viewing throughout the event, including a flown Apollo spacecraft, moon rocks, and space suits!
Invited Presenters include NASA, JPL, SETI, San Diego Astronomy Association, UCSD EarthKAM, The Planetary Society, SPAWAR, Virgin Galactic, Aerospace Legacy Foundation, Sally Ride Science, Astronaut Teacher Alliance, and many others. |
