Event Description Trees grow bark to insulate and protect their delicate eco process of growth and renewal, shedding this outer layer when it has been outgrown and is no longer needed. Similarly, we erect not only physical walls and boundaries, but also psychological and emotional walls of defense to protect and insulate ourselves from any perceived threat, pain or fear, thus allowing the vulnerable parts of ourselves to heal, unfold, or just be. In time, just as the serpent gives birth to new skins and sheds its old skins of being, the evolution of our soul requires that we allow our walls and boundaries to dissipate, to simply crumble away. When we do, we find latent strength, energy and inspiration hidden within. Each time we shed a layer of defensiveness or let go of a boundary no longer needed, we give our evolving soul space in which to expand and metaphorically grow to a higher state of conscious beingness and awareness of the spiritual power we hold within. Conversely, holding on to defensive walls once they no longer serve us will constrict our growth, preventing us from reaching our full potential. We may try to break through our walls by cutting or breaking a hole in our resistance with our will power. But, when our soul is being in the moment now, we can simply allow old walls of defense to just melt away with compassion and gratitude for ourselves and our life challenges. It is essential, then, that as soul beings, we consciously be in the moment, loving ourselves, loving our resistance and knowing exactly when to release our old ways of being, creating space for our next spiritual growth spurt. This body of work reflects this concept of SOUL BEING.
