Join Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) on May 15, 2015 from 7:00-10:00pm for an evening of art and celebration at ART AFTER DARK: Modern Madonnas. OMA's ongoing series of one-night-only thematic art events celebrates Mother's Day at Art After Dark: Modern Madonnas with an intimate showcase of regional artists and their modern interpretations of the classical symbol of femininity and maternity throughout the ages: the Madonna.
Local San Diego county artists Nicole Waszak, Evgeniya Golik, and Erin Bartleson will present their thematic work examining women and their shifting roles in contemporary art through live painting demonstrations and art exhibition. Performance poet, comedy writer, and Modern Madonna, April Ventura will entertain guests with stories from a modern woman, while singer and musician DJ Gingee provides a backdrop of contemporary music and live musical performances.
