Instructor: GOLDEN Working Artist Kevin Greeland

Discover the exciting realm of GOLDEN’s Iridescent, Metal and Rust Effects in this hands-on workshop with GOLDEN Working Artist and Educator KEVIN GREELAND. This class will focus on how to incorporate the bold metallic look of the iridescent colors and the subtle shimmer of the interference colors in your painting projects. Learn how you can manipulate the colors by themselves and how to change their behavior by mixing them with other pigments and acrylic gels. We will be working with varying viscosities of paints and gels to create a range of flat and sculpted surfaces. Students will also learn how to simulate weathered metals and woods, creating rust and patina affects. Students will create several small paintings so bring your imagination. All skill levels welcome, all participants will receive freeliterature, an information packet, hand-painted color charts and a bag of free product samples to take home!

Quint Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of SAVOIR FAIRE: WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO GET IT, the eighth solo exhibition of work by JEAN LOWE at Quint Gallery. SAVOIR FAIRE: WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO GET IT is an exhibition of new works resembling books by Lowe that are painted directly onto aluminum sheets. The aluminum sheets are printed to mimic the bookcase template used by Apple for its iBooks. The opening reception is on Saturday, May 16th from 6-8pm and is open to the public; the artist will be in attendance.
