Join San Diego Art Institute partners with Director/Curator of the Torrance Art Museum for MAS Attack: a one-night only nomadic series of exhibitions, taking place Saturday, March 19th from 6-10pm.
MAS Attack travels from city to city as well as around various sites in Los Angeles, introducing artists to each other and building a wider community of networks. These events invite artists to select their own work and to come together for a single evening of informal networking; catching up with old friends and their work, discovering new artists, and meeting long-time favorites. MAS Attack foregrounds the interactions of artists and the social aspects of our shared obsessions with art. No sales are allowed; no work is consigned by a gallery; ALL artists must be present to participate. Swapping artworks is encouraged. Our aim is to encourage artists to forge interpersonal connections while avoiding the anxieties that exhibiting formally can engender. |

29 San Diego artists present their non-figurative work in an all abstracts show. Without figurative grounding, vibrations, rhythms and energies in each work emerge. The movement of the painter’s brush stroke comes into focus...paint is pushed or pulled across each canvas differently in every piece. Light through a lens is captured without knowing subject or place. Colors stand boldly, lines are drawn, patterns repeat.
