Event Description

In March 2006 Perry Meyer was attending the New York Print Fair. A print dealer friend asked if he was thinking about opening a gallery. The plans were put into action. Perry researched the few San Diego art/design neighborhoods. He focused on the Art & Design District in north Little Italy. The rents were affordable, there was a core group of businesses and an established art walk event. Perry signed the lease for a small space on the second floor of the historical Studio Arts Building on Kettner Blvd, across the hall from the Scott White Gallery and in the company of half a dozen artist studios. As the dynamics of the neighborhood and residents in the building changed, Perry saw an opportunity to move to a larger gallery space. The move to the larger street-level space has provided the gallery enhanced visibility that has attracted more visitors and fostered our prominent place in the San Diego art scene. Now Meyer Fine Art celebrating 10 years in Little Italy!
