Event Description The ancient art of encaustic resonates in contemporary culture as the work takes on luminosity and transparent qualities so appealing to artist and viewer alike. This once obsolete medium is now recognized both for its exquisite beauty and versatility. This will be both a traveling show organized by Virginia Commonwealth University Arts, Painting and Printmaking Department and selected local encaustic artists. There will be many examples of contemporary encaustic art from around the country. The International Encaustic Association grant that was received will be used to fund a collaborative venture between museum, school and community culminating in encaustic art education for middle school students, museum exhibition and community outreach.

They are often used in meditation and help to reduce stress. Not only will you take home a beautiful unique creation, you will leave feeling peaceful, balanced and happy. You will receive full instruction and guidance on how to create a mandala that is your own unique expression. Everyone is an artist in this class! A special opportunity to Pay-Art-Forward
