Event Description

The Little Italy Association of San Diego is proud to host the 22nd annual FESTA!, the largest Italian cultural festival on the West Coast, on Sunday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The streets of San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood will be filled with over 120,000 visitors from all over the world to pay tribute to the Italian heritage and culture that created this iconic neighborhood. The event will feature Italian food, al fresco dining, authentic Italian music on three difference stages, a Sicilian flag procession, street stickball and bocce ball tournaments, Gesso Italiano (Italian Chalk) and more! Join the community in celebrating Little Italy’s historic past and bright future.

Event Description

Brush lettering is my go-to style when writing a name on an envelope—it’s quick, bold, and the recipient loves it! Modern wedding invitations may feature this look. The brush pen is convenient for adding text to a journal page—I carry a few colors in my bag. Use the lettering on its own, or combine it with watercolor or other art, and you can create beautiful, striking accents to hang on your walls. The uses for this art form are only limited by your imagination! We’ll focus on copperplate-script—the brush pen is the simplest tool for learning this popular style. Join me for a morning spent writing these flowing letters and combining them to create beautiful lines of text. In this “taste”, we’ll cover the small (aka lower case) letters.
