Event Description Come and join the Gypsy Caravan and make a one-of-a-kind handmade book. This book could become a travel journal, writing notebook, art journal or a unique gift for your family and friends. The book is made from inexpensive materials that most of us have around the house. The completed structure size is 8” x 6”, 28 pages, 3 signatures secured with a sewn pamphlet stitch. I will show you how to add a special closure that will tie or wrap around the book. Cover paper will be decorated with your own handmade stamp created in class. Students will go home with a completed book and detailed instructions. I know that once you have made this book you will want to create many more. This will be the year that you give that really unique holiday gift.

Event Description Any media and any level. Beginners are welcome! Intermediate artists will improve skills. For thousands of years mankind has used medicinal herbs and plants. Plants have the power to heal the body and soul. When we draw them, we enter a relaxed state of mind. Linda will bring real samples to draw from, such as: mustard, eucalyptus, purslane, pomegranate, fig, rosemary, aloe, thyme, lemon, olive, passion flower, fennel, artichoke, and borage, depending on what is growing locally at the time. With individual attention, Linda will guide you to create images that are in the style that you choose: highly realistic, expressive, or have fun creating images with an abstract twist. Create large art or mini artwork for gifts. Make note cards for friends and create delightful recipe cards for your kitchen and as a fun gift.

Event Description Luscious hand painted silk, vibrant fabrics and elegant designs with thread. These textile elements are all on view in Breakout: Quilt Visions 2016, the 14th international juried biennial exhibition produced by Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles. The three esteemed jurors chose 41 stunning works of art from 434 entries for this internationally recognized biennial exhibition. The selected artists exemplify the most creative innovations in quilt art today. While the term “quilt” brings to mind a bed covering, these works resemble paintings designed for the wall. Several awards for excellence in design and craftsmanship will be announced at the opening reception. A full color catalog will be available.
