Event Description This is a four week class: ongoing weekly class. Learn to paint with individual attention for all levels. Beginners are welcome! Use brushstrokes and textures to have fun creating realistic, expressive, and abstract art. Includes: expanding your observations skills to see like an artist and then transfer this new skill to your painting. Linda is an expert in highlights, shading, depth, dimension, and color mixing. Paint trees, flowers, people, animals, buildings, cars, and even abstract shapes– you name it, you can paint it! Choose from a variety of subjects provided by Linda, or bring your own favorite objects, or photos and postcards from your travels. Expand upon the basics: how to layout your subject matter, mix the best color scheme for your subject, and avoid creating muddy colors. Event Description Night two of 40 NORTH Fest will be a screening the award-winning film MA at the Museum of Photographic Art in beautiful Balboa Park. MA, directed by choreographer turned filmmaker, Celia Rowson-Hall, is a feature length film which details the journey of the heroine, played by Rowson-Hall, through the American desert as a modern day, Mother Mary. Her debut feature film – winning awards at both AFI Fest (American Film Institute – Los Angeles, CA) and Venice Film Festival (Venice, Italy) – will make its San Diego premier at the Museum of Photographic Arts’ Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater.
