Event Description Are you a collector of mini-souvenirs—perhaps a tiny stone or a piece of wood—when you travel? This structure has two drawers—one for your memento and one for a book you create about the place, the time, or the event. Imagine stacking two small matchbook boxes for an idea of the size and functionality of the drawers you will create in class then wrap with handmade paper or a unique image you've made and printed at home. You will receive a template for sizing, cutting and folding a mini-book that fits neatly into the book drawer and will also create a prototype in class. Judith Christensen has taught book arts classes to adults and young students for over twenty years. She has worked with the San Diego Book Arts Education and Outreach Programs for many of those years, teaching in schools and libraries and coordinating programs such as “Taking Art to the Neighborhoods,” in which 700 participants made a book.
