Event Description

All artistic levels are welcome to enjoy learning this beautiful, multi-layered, acrylic painting technique on aluminum. Paintings on aluminum are unique in that they have a reflective, mirror-like quality. In this first workshop, you'll learn how to create an abstract by using acrylic paint and water to add transparent layers, allowing the metal to shine through. A 15"x15" aluminum panel with a ready to hang backing will be provided. Walk away with your very own artistic creation that will impress your friends, family and colleagues! Your metal creation will add an artistic flair to your home. PLEASE BRING: Acrylic paints: including metallics and transparent Golden Brand which you can buy at any art store. Golden Brand at Artist & Craftsman Supply in Hillcrest is a great place to get them. Event Description

Latin American Art Festival is an annual event that presents outdoor exhibits, painting, sculpture, photography and printmaking as well as folk art, crafts, performance and culinary arts of Latin American countries. It is the only festival of its kind in Southern California. It takes place at Liberty Station Arts District with the aim of bringing to the residents of San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles and Baja California the artistic expressions of the Latin American community. Latin American Art Festival highlights the cultural richness of Latin America to strengthen the heritage and sense of belonging among the Hispanic community, showing the diversity of the communities to art enthusiasts, collectors and gallery owners on both sides of the border.

Quint Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition with Chris Thorson, sculpture by Roman De Salvo and a live performance by San Diego-based band Floodflower. Tabula Rasa is the first solo exhibition at the gallery for San Francisco Bay Area artist Chris Thorson, and will feature sculpture and an installation. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, April 1st from 6-8pm and is open to the public.
