San Diego artist Kevin Inman, known for plein air landscape paintings, has an exhibition of new work in La Jolla in conjunction with the Athenaeum School of the Arts.
New Paintings, at Girard Gourmet through April 28, contains works from two recent series. Urban landscapes, from the series Gentrification and its Discontents, explore the process of development and change in central San Diego. Still lifes, from the series White Paintings, explore issues ranging from the existential to the political through a personal iconography.
Inman is an instructor at the Athenaeum and recipient of the 2015 San Diego Art Prize.
The artist will host a wine and cheese reception on Friday April 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Girard Gourmet, 7837 Girard Avenue, La Jolla. Inman’s work can be viewed online at kevininman.com. |
