||The Artists' Stretch is a workshop that discusses and practices basic outlets and tools to help balance mental health and physical wellness. As a group we weave through three different forms of therapeutic outlets: open dialogue, movement/meditation, and journaling.
After introductions, we will spread out on our mats/blankets and follow along to a choreographed routine of "mogaĒ. Moga is a combination of basic stretches that includes; yoga, pilates, wushu kung fu positions, ninjitsu meditation poses and field hockey stretches.
Following the stretch, we will replenish with light refreshments. While snacking, Iíll share some recipes, tricks, tips to easy healthy eating from my book, The Art of Moga.
After nourishing our bodies, provided journals will be handed out as we talk about creative outlets, the art of "letting go" and the importance of seeing our own voice (handwriting). We will start with a free-writing exercise and with the remainder of time create self-portraits.
