Event Description

In this beginner-friendly course, students will learn slab building techniques to create their own vases using simple tools and techniques; no potter’s wheel required. Students will learn the differences between soft slab construction and stiff/hard slab construction to construct their own forms and patterns. The course will focus on three different vase shapes: simple cylinder, teardrop, or angular. Using the same slab building technique, students may also create small bud vases for singular flowers. Students will complete the course with a fully functional vase(s). While this is a beginner friendly course, more intermediate and advanced students may also join.

Event Description

Call for Artists The Off Track Gallery bi-annual Small Image Show is open to San Dieguito Art Guild members and also to nonmembers living in San Diego County. The show runs from October 20 through November 26, 2024. Cash awards will be awarded for Best Of Show ($50) and first place winners ($25) in five categories. To enter the Small Image Show go to SanDieguitoArtGuild.com and click on “Small Image Show”. Entry Fees are paid online: members, up to 3 entries, $10 each; non-members, up to 3 entries, $13 each. Entry deadline is Wednesday, October 23, 2024 by noon. Take-in, hand-delivered to the Off Track Gallery is Tuesday, October 29 , 3-5:30 pm
