R.B. STEVENSON GALLERY is pleased to announce the exhibition “This and That” featuring never before seen artworks from Richard Allen Morris\'s recently closed studio of 34 years. A lifetime of Neo-Dada, Pop, and Abstracts who critic David Halle has likened to a “primitivistic [Gerhard] Richter.”
Art critic David Pagel has defined Richard Allen Morris’s paintings as “little symphonies of serendipity.”
Lauded as an “artist’s artist” and “painters’ painter,” Morris’s works are appreciated internationally by such critics as Alexandrine Dhainaut (France), Christopher Knight and Suzanne Muchnic (both United States), Philipp Meier (Switzerland), and Ralf Christofori (Germany).
“This & That” will feature Morris’s whimsical Head series from the 1960s, works from his influential calligraphic black & white paintings, the acclaimed “Painters Room” series from the 1970s, many of Morris’s mischievous and devil-may-care experimental works and colorful gestural abstractions. |
