Event Description |
Quint Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition, PATRICIA PATTERSON: Observed Narratives. This is the third solo exhibition at the gallery for the artist. The exhibitions opens on Saturday, July 20th with a public reception from 11am to 1 pm, the artist will be in attendance.
Rather like a contemporary Virginia Wolfe, Patterson takes simple dinner conversation and creates art from it. In reverse, she might take fictional color from one of her paintings and paint a wall or baseboard in her house. For Patterson, art equals life and domestic life equals art. Her paintings are scenarios, reflecting the connectedness of family, friends and the earth.
Patricia Patterson\'s work deals with ordinary life. Her paintings are populated with family, friends, scenes of home and the surrounding landscape. Patricia Patterson moved to San Diego from New York in 1970, and was a Professor of Art at the University of California, San Diego until 1999. |
