Event Description Come learn to crochet a granny square at our March Craftivism Class! As a community class we will all create squares to add to our community Craftivism Quilt. You’ll have time to make at least a few granny squares. Once you get started you won’t want to stop! Crochet has typically been deemed a women’s craft, separating the work from the male dominated sphere of “Fine Art”. In recent history, feminist artists have affirmed crochet as fine art, and worthy of being an inclusive activity and a means to use your voice through craft. About Craftivism Classes: From yarn bombing to femmage, the Women's Museum's Craftivism Classes invites a local artist featured in the museum's current "Crafting Feminism" exhibit to teach participants a crafting skill and how they can use it in their activism. All classes are bilingual and taught in English and Spanish Non-WMC Members: $20 WMC Members: $10
