Event Description In the pre-digital era, see how an illustrator sets the standard for visual design, translating concepts from sketches to final commercial graphics. Howard Koslow was a master at capturing topics and authentically portraying them in a painting or original work on paper. His artworks are an essential part of advertising history. Koslow studied art at Pratt Institute, NY, the Cranbrook Academy of Art, MI and the School of Visual Arts, NY. Early in his professional art career his illustrations covered diverse advertising campaigns, book covers, historical genre, sports art and travel posters. His art is in the permanent collections of NASA, the United States Air Force, The National Park Service, The United States Coast Guard and The Pentagon. Koslow’s projects for the U.S. Postal Service, artwork for postage stamps and first day cover envelopes, spanned 30 years. He is featured in a video at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, one of artists discussing the art of stamp design. Always painting, his ‘leisure’ art pieces covered western landscapes, depictions of his travels to Italy, the Caribbean islands, many US lighthouses, sports, etc. American illustrator, artist and stamp designer Exhibition: June 7 - August 3, 2025 Receptions: Sat June 21, 5 - 8 pm Sun June 22, 12 - 6 pm
