R.B. Stevenson Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition, “Radiant Fields” by California artist Chris Trueman. We cordially invite you to the opening reception on Saturday, July 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m.
This second solo exhibition solidifies Trueman's ongoing presence at the gallery, where his work has been featured in both solo presentations and collaborative two-person exhibitions that continue to build his artistic legacy in the Southern California art scene.
Chris Trueman's recent paintings explore the relationship between abstraction, materiality, and perception in a post-digital visual landscape. Through layered applications of acrylic paint, spray paint, gradients, and expressive mark-making, he constructs complex surfaces that oscillate between physical object and immaterial image. Central to this body of work is the interplay of positive and negative forms, where gestures become both marks and openings, creating spatial ambiguities that invite sustained viewing. |
