BETWEEN EAST AND WEST--Folk Art Treasures of Romania showcased the richness of Romania's related arts. Featuring costumes, textiles, architecture, works in wood, pottery and musical instruments, the exhibition expresses the rich cultural heritage of this land at the confluence of East and West. It has been inhabited by many great civilizations, among them the Roman, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian Empires. Within its borders today are Romanians, Hungarians, Saxon Germans, Armenians, Jews and Roman who add variety and dimension to the art found there. |
