Event Description Oceanside International Film Festival continues its open call for submissions from professional and amateur filmmakers. The festival is accepting works from both international sources and those local to San Diego through June 10, 2013. Films from Italy, Spain, Iran, Brazil, Russia, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, any many more countries and states have been submitted to OIFF-2013 already. Its organizers are hoping that local talent responds to the call to represent their area of residence. No experience necessary, as long as applicable anti-piracy laws and copyrights are respected. Students are especially encouraged to participate by taking an advantage of great discount rates. Held August 15, 16, 17, 18, 2013, Oceanside International Film Festival officially kicks off a season of various film festivals, which are conducted annually in San Diego county and usually continue through the Fall. OIFF is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. It also gives the film buffs a jump-start chance for viewing local and international films at a place in Southern California known for its rich history, beautiful beaches, and artistic freedom. Film caregories are: Narrative Feature Films 40 to 120 min; Narrative Short Films under 40 min; Full Length Documentaries 40 to 120 min; Short Documentaries under 40 min; Animation Films up to 120 min; and Student Films up to 120 min. The organizational committee of OIFF is resolved to make the 2013 event a success with strong industry experience of its members and fun screening techniques to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. Among the highlights of the festival will be its traditional red-carpet opening gala, recognition of the industry activists, and closing ceremonies with Best-In-The-Category honorary announcements, Best Picture Trophy, and Audience Choice Award.

The festival showcases features, documentaries, shorts, animation, and student works from filmmakers who have not yet signed distribution agreements and look for recognition among wider audiences. Simply besides opportunities for exposure in front of wide audiences, elevating the chances for landing distribution deals for movies like ¡°Callous¡± and ¡°Working Class¡± is one of the high goals of this non-profit organization.
