| Event Description |
Charles Arnoldi is one of the most significant contemporary abstract painters, sculptors and printmakers of our generation. Emerging out of the booming 1970s Los Angeles art scene, Arnoldi’s paintings are experimentations in color, form and structure. Intersections will present a sampling of Arnoldi’s seminal early stick constructions and chainsaw wood relief paintings that brought him international acclaim in the early 1970s. Paired with selections from his recent Grids, Windows, Arcs, Chainsaw and Case Study series this exhibition will trace the evolution of Arnoldi’s career over the last 40 years. The exhibition opens with a Mega Reception on Saturday, June 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with the reception for three concurrent exhibitons: Tony DeLap: Selections from 50 Years; Volcanos and Full Moons: Ernest Silva; and Looking for Things: Jay Johnson. The reception is complimentary for OMA members and $10 for non-members and includes an open bar and creative appetizers. |
