Dear Friends,
We are pleased to announce ONE HUNDRED RABBITS, an exhibition of art work by hybrid-media artists Xhobo and Liesje. ONE HUNDRED RABBITS will open with a formal reception this Friday, June 27th, between the hours of 7:30 and 10:30 pm. The exhibition will be open for public viewing and discussion on Saturday and Sunday, the two days following, between 7 and 9 pm.
For this exhibition, Xho6o, a Czech-American painter and featured artist of the Broker's Building Gallery, has invited fellow artist Liesje to join him for a divided exhibition with a common name.
Liesje graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2005, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree through concentration in painting and sculpture. Her participation in ONE HUNDRED RABBITS with Xho6o marks her first multimedia exhibition in San Diego, where she has now lived for two years.
Xho6o, an active San Diego artist, has been experimenting with sound and video, mixing old family footage, and working, to a degree, as documentarian. ONE HUNDRED RABBITS will feature three videos by the artist, the first being Chobo 2007, an unfinished portfolio. Filmfoto, playing at 8:30, features found footage recently discovered in Xho6o's family home in Prague. Though somewhat biographical, Xho6o expresses something very human in Filmfoto. At 9:30, Xho6o's Brokers Building Gallery, another work in progress, will close out the night.
