Mission Statement
or Service Promoting unique artists in different disciplines. Featuring them in the live art room at a progressive bar & music venue in downtown San Diego. The live art room is about 12 feet long and 3 feet deep, with a glass wall that looks out into the crowd. The room is essentially an "aquarium" that we host many different types of art in, from painting and sculpture to unique photo-shoots and happenings/performance art.
We'd like to feature live art that makes a statement about current events (local, national, and international), the media, gender standards, cultural standards, anything that will bring another level of awareness to the art. We're looking to do something smart, different, and interesting; and feature it in an unexpected place - an aquarium inside a popular bar. We offer to pay artists in gift certificates that are good for food and drink, and can be used the night of the event or anytime after, day or night. Live art will mainly take place at night (between the hours of 10pm and midnight) on different days of the week. |
