Together with Synergy Arts Foundation (our sister non-profit) we are happy to announce some of our figures(in our category of visual art with budgets under $150,000) from the California Cultural Project for 2009. We have
- Increased our attendance figures for SDVAN exhibitions by 252% because the number of exhibition we produced went up by 586%.
- 20% more than the average volunteer hours
- Because of the economic downturn our individual donor numbers went down to 297 from 450 last year. But the state average went from 60 to 12 so we are well ahead of the curve still.
- And because of your continued generosity and techno savvy, we now have fifty times the state average money contributed on our websites
In 2010, SDVAN continues work tirelessly to arrange collaborations and to showcase talent in the SD region. .This year we presented the SD Art Prize recipients at Art San Diego Contemporary Fair at the Hilton Bayfront. We arranged for 70 patrons to cross the border for the entijuanarte 2010 fair. The New Contemporary III exhibition of emerging artists was held at Project X in Solana Beach. The second Movers and Shakers project featuring more than 40 artists and the VIPs chosen to be portrayed at Art Expressions Gallery.
The wonderful Art Meets Fashion promotion has 12 teams each one with an artiest, a fashion designer, an educator, and a documenter to record the collaboration. The resulting products will be featured at the first ever fashion show at the SD International Airport as well as boutiques and galleries in Northpark, the NTC and Downtown. There are more than 30 Fringe events on the theme of art and fashion being crossed promoted and an online competition.
Money given to SDVAN is money given to help the visual arts in the entire region of San Diego prosper and be recognized as the vibrant and creative resource that it truly is.
Immense thanks to the following for 2010 donations to SDVAN:
